About the Role

What will you be doing?

This role is a unique opportunity to combine expertise in computer science, machine learning, and medical imaging to make a real impact on the healthcare industry. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing new AI-powered solutions that can improve diagnosis, treatment planning, and patient care.

Therefore, we are looking for a highly skilled and experienced lead developer with a strong background in image processing and artificial intelligence (AI). The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing, implementing, and optimizing AI algorithms and technologies for medical imaging applications.

Responsibilities


Algorithm Development:

Research, design, and develop AI algorithms and models for medical image analysis, interpretation, and processing.

Create deep learning models, convolutional neural networks (CNNs), recurrent neural networks (RNNs), and other machine learning architectures tailored to medical imaging data.


Data Preparation:

Collaborate with medical professionals to collect and preprocess medical imaging datasets, ensuring data quality and compliance with regulatory standards.

Implement data augmentation and normalization techniques to enhance model performance.


Model Training and Optimization:

Train and fine-tune AI models using large-scale medical image datasets.

Optimize models for accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, and robustness.

Address issues related to overfitting, bias, and generalization.


Integration:

Integrate AI algorithms into existing healthcare systems, Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS), or radiology workflow for seamless adoption by healthcare professionals.

Collaborate with IT teams to ensure system compatibility and security.


Evaluation and Validation:

Perform rigorous testing and validation of AI algorithms, comparing their performance to existing clinical standards.

Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, such as FDA guidelines for medical software.


Collaboration:

Collaborate with cross-functional teams of radiologists, clinicians, data scientists, and software engineers to drive AI-based projects.

Communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders by translating technical concepts into actionable insights. What are we looking for?

Ph.D. or Master's degree in computer science, biomedical engineering, or a related field with a strong background in machine learning, deep learning, and computer vision - a must!

Extensive experience with medical imaging modalities, with a particular focus on ultrasound.

Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and knowledge of popular libraries and frameworks, including TensorFlow, PyTorch, and MONAI.

Experience with 3D imaging.

Familiarity with medical image analysis software and tools, such as DICOM and PACS.

Knowledge of healthcare industry regulations and standards, such as FDA and HIPAA.

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Strong communication skills to collaborate with medical professionals and explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Problem-solving skills, and out-of-the-box thinking.


The key qualifications for this role are a strong understanding of AI and medical imaging, as well as the ability to apply these technologies to improve healthcare. The candidate should also have experience with a variety of medical imaging modalities, as well as knowledge of the regulatory and ethical considerations in healthcare.
